HR Officer Position

One of our clients in the Aviation Industry wishes to appoint an HR officer who will be responsible for the HR administration and recruitment function. This position is based in Cape Town.

The HR Officer should have a complete understanding of the functional side of the business which includes functional and compliance training.

Office:  Office based in Cape Town

Salary: Between R20K and R30K depending on experience



The HR Officer is expected to:

  • Be actively involved in coordinating and ensuring the accuracy of HR records and compliance requirements.
  • Be proactive in recruiting employees and ensure that the current calibre applicants are screened for appointment.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes and procedures.
  • Ensure stakeholder communication is up to date and that all HR-related matters are followed up and resolved.
  • Report on all HR activities and confirm that all administration processes are complete and accurately updated.
  • Ensure the employee training data is correctly communicated to the Training department.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Support the management of Employee relations
  • Ad hoc HR related duties


Mandatory Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business management, business administration, or other relevant fields
  • 5 years of experience as an entry-level HR / Recruitment professional
  • Sound understanding of human resource and recruitment processes

  • Excellent experience in recruitment of employees
  • Project management abilities/experience
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Excellent management and organisational skills
  • Excellent analyst skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Complete understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
  • The strategical mindset to contribute to the development of the HR department
  • Understanding how the HR department works and how you can contribute significantly toward the HR development
  • Strong ethics and reliability
